We love "summer living" in Highlands, NC in the Western North Carolina mountains. At 4,000 feet elevation, we don't have to use air conditioning in the summertime. I love sleeping under a blanket with the windows open on the 4th of July! You can't do that many places in the Southeast.
We also have a condo in Pinehurst, NC where we go in the spring and fall. I love the golf courses there and play almost daily when we are there. Susan loves the shopping, so both of us are happy when we go to Pinehurst.
We now have a "winter" home in Fruit Cove, Florida about 3 miles from Claire, Madison, Mallory and Max. We spend about 7 months a year here and 5 months in Highlands, NC.
