We are in search of a Chef de Cuisine to add to our culture to compliment Goodhouse’s culinary program.Job Overview:As the Chef de Cuisine at Goodhouse, you will lead the culinary team in executing a first-class dining experience that reflects our commitment to excellence, innovation, and the highest standards of quality. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, menu development, and ensuring that every dish meets our meticulous standards for taste, presentation, and consistency. This position requires a high level pedigree who has worked for fine dining/Michelin restaurants.Key Responsibilities:Culinary Leadership:• Oversee all kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, plating, and service.• Lead, mentor, and develop the kitchen team, fostering a culture of excellence, creativity, and teamwork.• Collaborate with the Managing Partner in designing and updating menus that reflect the restaurant’s culinary vision and seasonal ingredients.• Ensure all dishes are prepared and presented according to the restaurant’s high standards, with a focus on consistency and attention to detail.Operational Management:• Manage kitchen inventory, order supplies, and ensure that all ingredients are fresh, of the highest quality, and sourced sustainably.• Develop and enforce standard operating procedures for kitchen staff, including hygiene, safety, and food handling protocols.• Monitor food costs and labor efficiency, ensuring the kitchen operates within budget while maintaining exceptional quality.• Oversee the maintenance of kitchen equipment, ensuring it is in good working order and addressing any repairs as needed.Menu Development:• Create innovative, seasonal menus that showcase the best ingredients and align with the restaurant’s culinary philosophy.• Collaborate with the sommelier and front-of-house team to develop wine pairings and special tasting menus.• Conduct tastings and training sessions for kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure they are knowledgeable about the menu and can effectively communicate with guests.Quality Assurance:• Conduct regular quality checks to ensure that all dishes leaving the kitchen meet the restaurant’s exacting standards.• Respond to guest feedback, both positive and critical, to continuously improve the dining experience.• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment that meets all health and safety regulations.Team Development:• Recruit, train, and manage kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.• Conduct regular performance reviews, providing feedback and coaching to help team members grow and succeed.• Lead by example, maintaining a professional demeanor and demonstrating a passion for culinary excellence.Qualifications:Experience:• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a fine-dining or Michelin-starred restaurant, with at least 2 years in a leadership role such as Chef de Cuisine or Sous Chef.• Proven track record of success in menu development, kitchen management, and team leadership.• In-depth knowledge of culinary techniques, kitchen equipment, and ingredient sourcing.Skills:• Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.• Exceptional culinary skills, with a creative flair for menu design and presentation.• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with the front-of-house team.Personal Attributes:• Passion for culinary arts and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of excellence.
