POSITION SUMMARY: The staff accountant's primary responsibility is to maintain Sonatech's general ledger in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Reconcile all balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis
2. Prepare and enter monthly journal entries
3. Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes
4. Book weekly payroll entries into the general ledger
5. Prepare monthly financial statements
6. Compute monthly actual and forecasted overhead rates
7. Assist in annual forecasting of budgets and overhead rates
8. Assist in customer invoicing
9. Help generate Sonatech's annual incurred cost submission
10. Develop and maintain ad hoc and dashboard financial reports
11. Review employee timecards and download into the payroll system each week
12. Work closely with other members of the department and throughout the company
13. May support Government Property Accounting and record keeping

Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience
2. Strong software skills including Microsoft Office Suite
3. High level of attention to detail
4. Exceptional organizational skills
5. Strong independent work ethic
6. U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident

Desired Qualifications:

1. Experience using QuickBooks and ERP systems
2. Prior exposure to payroll
3. Two plus years of prior experience working in a manufacturing environment
4. Prior experience working in accounting for a defense contractor is a plus

Pay range: $31.25 - $38.50. Factors considered but not limited to when extending an offer include role, responsibilities, work experience, and education.
