Are you a qualified Children's Support Worker looking for a new opportunity to join a truly unique residential service who specialise supporting young people with EBD (Emotional Behavioural Difficulties) on a 2 to 1 basis?I have an exciting opportunity for a COMMITTED and DETERMINED individual to join a residential service in the Barnstaple area of South Molton, as a Senior Children's Support Wo...rker.The service prioritise the needs and wants of their young people, and tailor the care & support they provide to motivate young people to take ownership of their own lives, while encouraging their learning and development.Job Title: Senior Children's Support WorkerSalary: £28,275 - £30,450 (sleep allowance included)Location: Barnstaple, South Molton (EX36 Postcode)Hours: 40 hours per weekShift pattern: 2 on 4 offContract: Permanent• Due to the nature of the job and the activities involved, we are only able to consider applicants who have a full driver's licence**Benefits• Opportunity to complete further NVQ qualifications all fully funded!• 2-week induction package / Online and in house training fully funded!• Overtime availability• Free meals whilst on shift• Casual dress code• Comprehensive Training Package including scheduled ongoing face-to-face training and CPD planning• Plenty of opportunities to maximise earnings and career developmentResponsibilities• To encourage the young people to do activities and take responsibility for their own lives depending on their age.• To support the manager and team in all aspects of the day-to-day operations, including managing staff teams, budgets and ensuring that the quality of the services provided meets expected care standards.• To keep the homely, friendly culture and environment of the homes.• To be able to deal with challenging behaviours when needed.• Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.• Provide support for the children and young people in the home and to promote their independence and well-being.• Ensuring the safety of the young people and maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of the individual's; care plan, guidelines, reward system and preferred method of communication.• Supporting taxing behaviour safely and sympathetically.• Develop and maintain good working relationships with the staff, parents, Social Workers and other professionals that may be involved in the young people's lives such as Psychologists.• Organise and participate activities and holidays, ensuring risk assessments have been followed.Requirements• Minimum of 2 years experience supporting children with SEMHD, and challenging behaviours ESSENTIAL• Level 3 NVQ in Children & Young People or equivalent ESSENTIAL• You must hold a Full UK Manual Driving Licence as you'll be required to transport young people from time to time ESSENTIAL• Childrens Homes Regulations and Safeguarding knowledge ESSENTIALIf you want to make a difference and support young people, whilst continuing a career in the health & social care sector as a Senior Children's Support Worker this is the PERFECT job for you!Click apply today!!
