We are seeking an experienced Agricultural Assistant to join our team at J.M. Peeters Nurseries Ltd. in Canada.
About the Job
This is a seasonal position with approximately 45-60 hours of work per week. The ideal candidate should be available for the advertised start date and legally able to work in Canada.
Job Responsibilities
The successful candidate will assist in various tasks including hoeing, cleaning greenhouses, planting and cultivating crops, as well as weeding. Additionally, they will handle heavy loads and perform physically demanding tasks on a daily basis.
Apart from manual labor, the role also requires the ability to distinguish between colors and stand for extended periods while walking or bending/crouching/kneeling.
Requirements
• No degree, certificate, or diploma required; however, previous experience in this field of employment is an asset.
• Ability to operate planting equipment.
• Own transportation to and from the workplace.
• Public transportation is not available.
Work Environment
The job involves working outdoors in a wet/damp environment that may be hot and dusty at times.
Benefits and Compensation
We offer a competitive estimated salary range of $25-$35 CAD per hour based on industry standards and the location. This translates to an estimated annual salary of $50,000-$70,000 CAD before taxes, depending on the number of working hours per week.
