About The Job

Salary: £27,803 - £30,296 a year

Hours per week: 37

Contract type: Permanent

We are searching for a driven and enthusiastic person to join the dedicated Corporate Procurement team as a Procurement Assistant to support the delivery of compliant procurements across the entire council.

Please note this role does not attract sponsorship.

About You

In this role you will require basic knowledge of the Public Procurement Legislation, good experience in a buying/purchasing or customer service role and an engaging communication style. You will have an appetite for learning new skills and understanding the complexities of public procurement and the opportunities compliant tenders and contracts can bring to better support the lives of the Luton community.

A potential foundation in procurement with some experience delivering projects and an understanding of relevant procedures and techniques would be of benefit and your background may include working in a customer-focused environment,

An ability to explaining intricate processes and requirements to colleagues and excellent communication, both verbal and written, is an important attribute.

You should be well-organised, capable of managing multiple work streams simultaneously, and thrive under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Confidence with office IT systems, particularly word processing, spreadsheets, and e-procurement tools would be beneficial.

The procurement function is an integral part of the beating heart of the council with many exciting projects and opportunities for you to be an important part of.
