Financial Controller

As a Financial Controller, you will partner with the EMEA sales organization, the global finance team, and other members of the EMEA finance team. You will ensure that external reporting is performed according to set deadlines and with high quality. In your role, you will enhance the efficiency of financial reporting and participate in various change and harmonization initiatives. This role involves frequent interaction with local sales teams, global finance, and group operations. This position is essential to Optinova as it directly impacts the efficiency and transparency of financial reporting, enabling data-driven decisions and business partnering.

Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and manage... day-to-day finance operations for assigned legal entities in Europe
• Ensure timely and high-quality completion of monthly, half-year, and year-end closing
• Plan and coordinate the annual audit for assigned entities, including preparation of annual reports for Swedish entities
• Ensure alignment to the chart of accounts with global directions, local regulations, and management reporting requirements
• Train the organization on finance processes (e.g., travel expenses, execution of finance processes, and cash collection)
• Oversee the Accounts Receivables and Accounts Payable processes in the region, including continuous improvement
• Prioritize process improvements in collaboration with the line organization and group functions
• Conduct ad hoc analysis and reports based on company priorities

Required experience and education:
• At least 5 years experience of accounting and financial reporting
• M.Sc. or B.Sc in finance

Required skills:
• Deep knowledge in accounting, reporting, Swedish companies’ act and general tax legislation.
• MS Office experience.
• Good knowledge of accounting and reporting process improvements
• Ability to build trust, collaboration in an international environment
• Fluency in English and Swedish


You will be based in the Nordic sales office in Uppsala, Sweden, and report to the Head of Global Accounting, who is also based in Uppsala. We would like the role to be on site in Uppsala 3 days a week, otherwise hybrid work from Sweden is possible.
