jobs description

Starship Technologies is revolutionizing deliveries with autonomous robots. These robots are designed to deliver food, groceries, and packages across college campuses and neighborhoods in minutes. Starship has now completed millions of autonomous deliveries to date, traveled millions of miles, and is currently doing more than 140k road crossings each day. Our contribution to society includes reducing congestion, and pollution, providing zero-emissions deliveries, increasing the quality of life for residents, empowering seniors and disabled people, and enabling affordable delivery for local businesses.

We’re hitting records on an almost weekly basis. Now is an exciting time to join as we grow rapidly around the world!

We're on the lookout for a Senior Product Designer to join our product team, which currently consists of four members - two designers and two product managers. Reporting directly to the Head of Product, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience of our... software products for a wide range of operations-related stakeholders, including internal as well as third-party users.

Ultimately, your designs contribute to operational excellence - achieving the business goals of operational efficiency and optimal resource allocation, and driving revenue.

This position can be located in either Estonia or Finland. We do not provide relocation assistance for this position.

Your main responsibilities are:
• Owning the design of operations-related software products, some used by internal users and some by third parties
• Working iteratively within the product development team to achieve desired outcomes, often measurable, in terms of the quality and efficiency of our operations
• Understanding the context of problems by conducting user research (mostly interviews and shadowing)
• Using data to draw inspiration and guidance and to make informed decisions
• Actively contributing to the team's planning, roadmaps, strategy, and overall direction

What’s in it for you?
• Opportunity to work on industry-leading self-driving delivery robot technology on a uniquely large scale, creating history and making things happen
• You can immerse yourself in the world of technology and innovation
• You will have a chance to work with people with a strong inner burning and motivation. We are self-aware and seek feedback and improvement. We don’t want to wait until we are told what needs to be done but take it as a matter of pride to figure out solutions for topics in various teams and areas
• You’ll have endless opportunities to learn from our inspirational, talented team members across the globe

What we hope you’ll bring to the table:
• 4+ years of experience as an in-house product designer in a product company
• Ability to create UIs with a modern look and feel, coupled with strong UX skills, visual design, and product thinking for web and mobile apps
• Experience in qualitative discovery methods to gain insights into user context
• Problem-solving skills to design for the complex real-world environment of our robots
• Impact-driven mindset, focusing on outcomes, value creation, and business impact
• Ability to work quickly with rapid iteration cycles
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Experience with Figma
• Experience using data to draw inspiration and guidance to make informed decisions

Beneficial:
• Experience designing for operations, where the design guides users to perform predefined tasks at good quality
