Job Description:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable SEN Teacher to join our passionate team.
As an SEN Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality education to our pupils with diverse learning needs.
We are specifically looking for a candidate with experience in secondary SEN, as our academy covers a wide age range.
Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs of pupils with severe and complex learning disabilities.
Utilize a range of teaching strategies and... resources to promote active learning, engagement, and progress.
Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
Collaborate with other members of the teaching team, support staff, and therapists to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) for pupils.
Create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that fosters a sense of belonging and encourages independence and self-esteem.
Provide ongoing assessment and feedback to track pupil progress, identifying areas for improvement and implementing appropriate interventions.
Effectively manage challenging behaviour using positive behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques.
Collaborate with parents, guardians, and external agencies to support pupils' holistic development and meet their individual needs.
Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills related to SEN teaching
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
Experience working with pupils with severe and complex learning disabilities, either in a secondary SEN setting or in Early Years SEN.
Knowledge of relevant educational frameworks, strategies, and interventions for pupils with SEN.
Understanding of individual education plans (IEPs) and experience in their development and implementation.
Ability to differentiate instruction and resources to meet the diverse needs of pupils.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with colleagues, parents, and external agencies.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting pupils with learning disabilities.
Resilience and the ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate changing needs and situations.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
To join us and be successful in this role you will need to:
Hold previous experience working within SEND
Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible
