This Inspections Supervisor position is a new role that will oversee a team of internal and external inspectors who conduct field inspections before and after energy efficiency projects. The supervisor shall set and document policies and procedures to ensure Eversource meets its annual inspection goals for all commercial, industrial, and residential energy efficiency projects in MA/CT/NH. This... role is focused on creating, clarifying, improving, and documenting inspection/auditing/commissioning procedures, and as such it requires creativity, technical writing skills and focus on details. The supervisor will monitor KPIs to assess team performance and installation quality for energy efficiency projects in our territories. The supervisor must also engage with internal stakeholders including the sales team, implementation team, and business operations to communicate suggested program improvements based on inspection trends. The inspection group is also responsible for meeting with external vendors to clarify requirements and discuss continual improvement and issue resolution.
This is a hybrid role. The first three months are fulltime in the office.
Essential Functions
• Establish and maintain inspection checklist and site report requirements for all programs.
• Establish and maintain monthly inspection and vendor performance dashboards (for both implementation and inspection vendor where applicable)
• Establish and maintain selection protocols by program
• Ensure inspection goals are being met per the selection protocol by program
• Monitor timeliness of inspection scheduling.
• Continued improvement of policies and procedures.
• Directs supervision of department staff, including personnel professional development, performance assessments, recruitment and preparation of reporting procedures for program implementation activities (e.g. production summary, target attainment, etc.).
• Oversees the budgeting, invoicing and tracking of expenses and energy savings, as well as the development of RFP's for contracted services.
• Ensures the team is meeting deadlines, and following procedures related to documentation collection and Q&A.
• Participates in the continued development of new inspections and engineering review guidelines to better serve our customers.
• Displays a broad range of technical knowledge in energy efficiency and applies knowledge to successfully implement programs/initiatives/strategies.
• Communicates program rules and policies to internal and external stakeholders. This may involve balancing several opposing viewpoints in a fair and consistent manner.
• Coordinates with energy consulting, sales, marketing, and planning teams to refine existing customer offerings and seek opportunities to expand and improve them.
• Represents Eversource in national energy efficiency conferences and/or stakeholder events (e.g. ACEEE, ASHRAE, ACI, CEE)
Qualifications
Technical Knowledge/Skill:
• Requires ability to interpret energy efficiency measures and understand their application.
• Technical writing
• M&V experience in installing and verifying equipment operation related to building energy efficiency.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and submittals.
• Prior experience related to OSHA standards and job site safety
• Understanding of utility energy efficiency programs
• Requires expertise in Microsoft Office.
• Demonstrates initiative and ability to make decisions based on logical assumptions and information.
• Demonstrates leadership, mentoring, and networking skills.
• Demonstrates problem-solving skills and attention-to-detail.
Education:
• Bachelors degree in Facilities Management, Engineering or a related discipline or equivalent experience
• Advanced degree in engineering, business or marketing is desirable
Experience:
• Five (5) plus years of relevant experience in engineering design, auditing, commissioning, inspections, facility management.
• Documenting complex policies and procedures into company handbooks/manuals
• Experience in communication at various levels of organizations, companies, and institutions.
• Experience in presentations and public speaking desired.
• Experience and/or aptitude in customer service is also required.
Licenses & Certifications:
• IPVMP, Certified Energy Auditor (CEA), Performance Measurement and Verification Expert (PMVE), or Certified Measurement & Verification Professional (CMVP) preferred
Compensation and Benefits:
• Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program.
• The annual salary range for this position is $119,000 - $132,000 plus incentive.
