Job Title: With-Profits Technical Actuary

Job Type: Permanent.

Location: Wythall, Edinburgh or Telford with hybrid working.

The role

We are recruiting for a With-Profits Technical Actuary in our With-Profits Management Review team, working with other actuaries and analysts across a range of with-profits activities carried out within the With-Profits Management team and supporting the With-Profits Actuaries in carrying out their duties. The work you do will have a direct impact on our policyholders.

You will be working across a number of our with-profits funds and contribute to their effective management by leading or supporting investigations, projects and developments; proposing improvements to processes, controls and methodologies; and reviewing the outcomes of business-as-usual work such as bonus reviews.

Senior stakeholders include the With-Profits Actuaries and the With-Profits Committee.

The team is at a pivotal stage bringing together the management of different With-Profit funds with the possibility of finding opportunities to improve current methods and processes.

What are we looking for?

You will be a qualified Actuary with relevant post-qualification experience in the industry ideally in the context of with-profits funds.

Time-management, planning and stakeholder management skills will ensure successful delivery of a mixture of business-as-usual review work, methodology reviews and project work.

An ability to conduct research and investigations across a range of financial and commercial issues will enable you to work on a range of investigations as the with-profits funds run-off.

Excellent communication skills mean you will work effectively with a technical actuarial audience and simplify communications of technical issues to a non-technical audience.
