An integral part of the IT team, you'll focus on designing, implementing, and maintaining system architecture. You'll be responsible for complex troubleshooting and long-term system strategy, with less focus on routine administrative tasks.
You'll play a vital role in cloud services, network configurations, and the execution of Zero Trust Security Methodologies in this IT Systems Engineer role.
About the role
Working under the direction of the IT Systems Manager, you'll handle escalated technical issues that could not be resolved by the service desk, engage directly with stakeholders to understand their requirements, and provide customised solutions.
Systems Architecture and Development
• Design, implement and manage system architecture including cloud services like Microsoft Azure and hybrid environments
• Work closely with the IT Systems Manager to strategize and execute long-term systems roadmaps
Systems Monitoring
• Implement and maintain system monitoring tools to ensure... high availability and performance
• Configure and manage alerts for system failures, outages, or irregular behavior.
• Analyse monitoring data to identify trends or issues that could impact system performance or security
Problem Diagnosis and Resolution
• Conduct advanced troubleshooting to identify, isolate, and correct system issues
• Work in conjunction with IT analysts to implement system upgrades, installations, and backups
• Optimize existing architectures for scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Ensure compliance with Zero Trust Security Methodologies and other best practices in security
Documentation and Knowledge Management
• Prepare architectural guidelines and documentation
• Review existing documentation for areas of improvement and keep it up to date
Collaboration and Communication
• Consult with internal departments to define system requirements and tailor solutions accordingly
• Mentor and guide IT Support Analysts in both hard and soft skills
• Act as the deputy for the IT Systems Manager as needed, leading team meetings and making critical decisions
Change Management and Availability
• Own and manage the change management process, from planning to execution
• Be available to work outside of normal business hours for critical system maintenance, updates, and emergency troubleshooting

Who are we looking for?
We can teach you about the job and sector, but a few basics you need to have:
• Minimum bachelor's or master's degree in systems engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• Current and valid full Australian work rights
• Minimum 4 years of experience in system engineering or a related field
• Demonstrated proficiency with cloud services and network configurations
• In-depth understanding of Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Cisco Meraki, Netskope, HP Insights, Airwatch MDM, Intune, Autopilot configurations, and Zero Trust Security Methodologies
• Expertise in system architecture, including the design and implementation of scalable, high-availability solutions
