The City of New Carrollton's Department of Public Works is seeking a full-time Horticulturist to supervise the City Arborist and helper.

Work assignments are primarily outdoors, where employees may be exposed to various weather conditions, loud noise, dirt, dust, debris, chemicals, and foul odors.

Must be pursuing or have a two- (2) or four (4)-year degree from an accredited college or university in the fields of horticulture, botany, or related field.

In addition to seven (7) years of increasingly responsible experience in parks maintenance with three (3) years of first level supervisory experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
Must possess a valid pesticide license.

Possession of a Class B Commercial Driver's License or ability to obtain one within the first year of employment is a must.
(Bi-lingual is a plus). Any satisfactory combination of experience and training which provides required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be deemed acceptable
