Job overview
The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is the largest comprehensive cancer centre in Europe with a national and international reputation for high quality patient care, research, training and education.
The Royal Marsden is seeking to appoint a 1 year, fixed term Consultant Microbiologist or Consultant in Infectious Disease with an interest in microbiology.
Main duties of the job
This is a unique opportunity to work at this world leading cancer centre with a particular focus on the microbiology of the immunocompetent patient. There will be a requirement take part in out of hours cover on a rotational basis.

A recruitment and retention premium will be applied to this role, £3000 on commencement in post, £3000 at the end 6 months in post and £3000 at end of the completed fixed term contract ... subject to terms and conditions.

Essential criteria
• Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists or equivalent qualifications
• Full and Specialist registration (and with a licence to practise) with the General Medical Council (GMC), or be eligible for registration within six months of interview
• Applicants that are UK trained, must ALSO be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview
• Applicants that are non-UK trained, will be required to show evidence of equivalence to the UK CCT
