THE ROLE :
As an IT Infrastructure Service Manager, you will be responsible to lead a team of ITSM system analysts, system developers, and infrastructure specialists at AMD’s offices in Penang, Malaysia.
THE PERSON :
The ideal candidate will have extensive IT management experience, excellent communication skills at all levels, broad technical knowledge and experience, including IT ticketing systems, ITIL, systems management, systems development life cycle (SDLC), and operational support experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
• Serve as the management lead for the Penang team and act as regional contact to the broader IT organization.
• Provide people management for the team.
• Lead the team of experienced full-time in delivering solutions to the internal AMD customer community and other stakeholders.
• Establish trust with the local Penang business leaders.
• Establish objectives and track performance towards achievement of projects and operational service level targets.
• Manage... executive escalations and interact with IT functional groups and establish relationships cross-functionally to drive escalations to closure.
• Seek continuous improvement and enhancement opportunities in providing the service to the customer and the broader IT teams.
• Ability to explain technology concepts / procedures / policies in a non-technical way; collaborating and coordinating with members of other teams to track, isolate and resolve technical issues.
• Demonstrate strong project management and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to adjust communications based on the audience.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE :
• 5 years of management experience and a minimum of 3 years in any infrastructure disciple.
• Working knowledge of ticketing systems, networking, IT security, and computing.
• Experience working in a global company.
• Experience working with 3rd party vendors in both support and contract areas.
• Concentrated focus on defect reduction and quality of services.
• Excellent customer relations and customer support skills, particularly communicating with executives and at any other level within the organization.
• Experience working in a team-oriented, global, collaborative environment.
• Project management experience
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS :
Bachelor in information technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
