UOFT India Foundation is facilitating partnerships between the University of Toronto and Indian institutions/organizations to carry out collaborative research programs in India. One focus area for the Centre is research and implementation of partnerships addressing pressing issues facing Indian cities and urban and rural regions. We refer to this work as The School of Cities India (SofCI).

Your opportunity:

UOFT India Foundation’s SofCI convenes urban-focused researchers, educators, students, in both Canada and India, to work with Indian practitioners, institutions and the general public to explore and address complex urban and rural challenges, with the aim of making cities, urban regions and communities more sustainable, prosperous and just. SofCI is a place where diverse communities can come together to spark new insights and design creative ways for cities, communities, and their residents to thrive. It seeks meaningful collaborations with its partners, recognizing that... communities and their members are not sites or objects of research, but actors and collaborators in knowledge-making projects.

Under the direction of the Country Head of UOFT India Foundation, and the designated faculty lead at the School of Cities, University of Toronto, you will principally support education programs and collaborations. You will play a key role in supporting the work of SofCI by undertaking such activities as supporting, planning and launching events; providing administrative support for education programming; partnership-building; coordinating meetings; and amplifying SoCI’s academic reach by networking, promoting, and forging new educational opportunities.

Additionally, under the direction of the Country Head, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, and program delivery for the urban/rural research portfolio at UOFT India Foundation. Working closely with research faculty at the University of Toronto and with our institutional partners in India, you will refine research funding proposals, research and analyze partnership opportunities, administer and oversee SofCI research funding programs of the Centre. When specific research projects are being implemented, you will also play a key role in supporting their implementation through strong project management.

UOFT India Foundation is evolving, and this role will evolve with it, requiring flexibility on the part of the incumbent.

The incumbent must be a Citizen of India. The role is in-person in Mumbai, India.

Essential Qualifications and experience:

· Master's Degree in Urban Planning, Political Science, Public Policy, Computer Science/Engineering, or closely related field, or acceptable combination of equivalent experience;

· Minimum five years recent and related experience working with top tier universities in India to develop experiential learning opportunities, student support, and/or providing research support;

· Experience in stakeholder management, overseeing program, event, and workshop delivery;

· Demonstrated record of building new programs and initiatives from the ground-up;

· Demonstrated ability to write and edit reports and to prepare and present ideas and analysis to a diverse range of audiences;

· Experience drafting and reviewing research funding grant submissions;

· Strong project management skills;

· Demonstrated ability to be nimble, work with ambiguity, and solve problems;

· Ability to work independently with initiative, discretion, and tact;

· An effective interpersonal style: the ability to interact with a wide range of people, networking and relationship building skills;

· Experience working with international partners/organizations;

· Excellent computer skills including office IT systems, especially Word, Excel, power point, Microsoft Office 365, and collaboration tools;
• Open to working outside of standard hours in a hybrid work environment within a distributed team;
• Flexible to travel to meet regional needs and dynamic program priorities;
• Other duties as assigned.

The salary is 51,09,926 INR per annum.
