As a Finance Manager at VMware, you will be part of a global team supporting the Sales Finance group, leading processes from end to end, innovating and creating process efficiencies. Overseeing key finance activities such as OPEX and topline forecasting, planning, and management reporting are an essential part of the role. You will get opportunities to nurture strong business relationships and help build the vision of your team. Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing? Within 30 days of employment, become competent with VMware’s FP&A processes, fiscal calendar, and main systems and tools. Understand team structure and interdependencies with other departments. Within 90 days you would be overseeing the forecasting, planning, and reporting activities for the assigned organizational units Within 180 days you would be in position to guide team members and management on improvements, automation and process efficiencies Within 360 days you would represent your team and convey their ideas across in company projects, impacting FP&A activities You would be collaborating cross-functionally with other colleagues from Data Analytics, Corporate Planning, Finance, Accounting, Sales Operations and Sales to improve existing reporting and build new dashboards as requirements evolve. The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis? The primary goal of this role is to manage key finance processes and drive company projects impacting assigned organizational units while leading optimizations and innovations in the current FP&A practices. You can expect a variety of the following assignments: Lead the topline planning activities related to the assigned organizational units from a day-to-day and data perspective Oversee the regular OPEX and headcount forecasting, planning, and reporting processes Partner with Sales on overall spending plans to maximize budget utilization Collaborate with cross-functional departments on quarterly business reviews and accounting presentations, ensuring data accuracy and timeliness of reporting Partner with Data Analytics and other finance departments in company-wide projects Spot operational & data gaps, taking proactive steps in identifying root causes and eventually translating into a clear and actionable plan Work closely with matrix team in the US to ensure alignment and create awareness on day-to-day deliverables and work streams Navigate the rest of the team through ad-hoc requests by translating them into working plans Manage queries and ad-hoc requests from various stakeholders What is the leadership like for this role?
