Are you a student learning disability nurse due to qualify soon or are already a band 5 learning disability nurse and would like to join a community team, if so then we would love to hear from you.
The team is looking to recruit a learning disability nurse who is adaptable, highly motivated, with excellent communication skills and who is as passionate about working with children with learning disabilities. The Learning Disability Service strives to provide forward thinking high quality services, working in partnership with people with learning disabilities, their families and carers and other agencies.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Learning Disability Nurse to join the Children’s Learning Disability Team in Preston, though the applicant will also need to travel across the Central Locality. In... addition to working with people with learning disabilities and their families we have a strong commitment to health promotion through service development and training initiatives. We are committed to helping our staff develop and you will be part of an enthusiastic and experienced team.
We are looking for a registered nurse with an up to date knowledge of health policy for people with learning disabilities including knowledge of the Transforming Care agenda. Adaptability, good communication skills and self-motivation are essential. The successful applicant will have proven skills in working with people who have complex health needs and challenging behaviour.
Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services including secondary mental health care across this area. Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.
The Trust also provides a range of physical health and well-being services in the community alongside a range of partners in the Lancashire, Cumbria and Sefton area.
