Position Summary
The Marketing and Events Assistant will work closely with the Marketing Department and gain experience in multiple facets of marketing, including social media, communications and special events through the following tasks and activities:
Assist the marketing team with activities related to communications, advertising, marketing campaigns and events (including the annual fundraiser 'Tune into YES').
Assist with the development and implementation of new marketing initiatives.
Help draft social media posts and other creative campaigns.
Monitor and engage with potential and existing clients through social media (FB, LinkedIn, Instagram) and other mediums to increase awareness, engagement and respond to inquiries.
Provide marketing and administrative support; taking... meeting minutes; updating spreadsheets; creating weekly and monthly editorial calendars.
Assist with the planning and marketing of special events and the annual fundraiser including helping to source and solicit auction and auction items.
Other tasks may include research, sourcing content, writing, moderating posts, monitoring social channels and reporting.
From time to time, provide support in the YES centre to clients accessing job search, entrepreneurship and artist supports and services by advising them of the services available and the community and directing them to the appropriate services.
Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications
Between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act [S.C. 2001, c. 27
Legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations
Excellent English writing and communication skills are required.
Digitally savvy
Experience using Office365 and SharePoint platforms is a bonus

Motivated with strong follow through and self-direction on assignments
Respects and adheres to timelines and deadlines
Flexible – able to shift gears quickly.

Bilingual French and English
Compensation: $17/Hour
