Geo40 are a locally owned and operated business who specialise in the development of novel technologies to recover valuable minerals from waste fluids which were previously unrecoverable. Thinking outside the square and looking at how best to maximise the commercial possibilities within geothermal, they have developed a ground breaking process technology for the extraction of Silica from geothermal water, producing a commercial product that can be sold to customers worldwide. Geo40’s ‘Northern Plant’ is... the world’s first large scale plant, sustainably recovering ultra-low carbon, nanoparticle silica from a geothermal fluid.
Their next stage of their exciting journey is the recovery of Lithium from geothermal, oil field and Salar type brines to produce low-carbon, sustainable lithium to support the electric transport revolution.
Due to the growth of their business, we are looking for an experienced Process Engineer to support manufacturing, their pilot plants, lab scale process improvement and scale-up of world-first processes. You would join their team to be based in Ohaaki but must also be willing to spend significant portions of time away travelling and working if required. Initially this would be in North and South America with one of their latest lithium recovery plants. · Troubleshoot daily operational issues, interface with operations and maintenance personnel as problems are addressed,
· Provide timely communication to management and project stakeholders by communicating project needs, value, priorities and decisions to ensure project success.
If you have had consultancy type experience backed up with operational plant experience this would assist especially around the design or design evaluation of various parts of their specialised project work.
Having strong communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide array of internal and external parties is required, as well as having high attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
You will need to be driven and flexible as being a young company, they need everyone to chip in and assist in responsibilities that may not be directly under your job scope.
This is a fantastic long-term career opportunity with an innovative, technology leading company specialising within the renewables sector. This is a genuine and fantastic opportunity to become a strategic part of this company working on world first technology and processes.
