Control Accountant / Management Accountant

Peterborough Up to £50,000 We are seeking a dynamic Control Accountant to join a fast-moving business on an interim basis. Roles and responsibilities but not limited to-Designing, implementing, and managing controls for crucial financial aspects pertaining to both reporting and forecasting. This includes overseeing controls for stock quantity and valuation during the closing, ensuring completeness, timeliness, and accuracy of key transactions, maintaining control over asset accounting, and reconciling financial ledgers.
• Ensuring compliance with stock count requirements for all production sites and third-party warehouses. Collaborating closely with warehouse, supply chain, and production teams to communicate requirements, offering support when necessary to ensure compliance.
• Generating monthly stock provisions and facilitating the implementation of tools aimed at enhancing control and expediting the... resolution of stock-related issues. Mandatory participation in weekly stock on-hold meetings. Also responsible for granting finance approval for disposals after exploring all other alternatives.
• Maintaining, monitoring, and enhancing the Control Self Assessment (CSA) system to establish and execute key controls. Designing and conducting periodic audits to verify compliance.
• Establishing, implementing, and maintaining a Financial Audit process for critical procedures not covered by the CSA.
• Assisting the Finance Director in ensuring adequate insurance coverage, monitoring changes in requirements, and compiling information for claims.
• Developing a comprehensive understanding of the internal SAP system and becoming an advocate for the software. Providing training to other users as needed.
• Undertaking ad hoc projects related to risk and control, as defined by the Finance Director.
