The CNC Machine Operator will be required to programme and run a variety of CNC controllers including but not limited FANUC, Hiedenhiem and Siemens. A fundamental knowledge of G Coding will be required as well as familiarity of managing tooling and optimising speeds and feeds. The operator will run the machine as well as perform regular maintenance. They will work with the CAD CAM engineers to assist on new product development and contribute to product manufacturability on items used in the the growing Energy sector.

The CNC Operator will also be required to be able to measure products using micrometers as well as CMM for first off production runs.

CNC Machine Operator Qualifications

Level 1 Certificate in Performing Engineering Operations.

Level 1 Certificate in Engineering and Manufacturing and

Level 2 Certificate in Mechanical Engineering.

CNC apprenticeship would be an advantage but the minimum skills below are a must:
• Maths skills, including geometry and trigonometry

• Software programing via CAD and CAM programs and direct Machine Interface
• Metalworking and machine tooling
• CNC machine programming
• Application of ISO quality standards

Experience

Minimum 2 years experience is necessary and on the job and dedicated training will be offered to the successful candidate
