Registered Veterinary Nurse Required At Thanet Vets, Margate

The Role

We are looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Thanet Vets, Margate. Your day to day duties will include general nursing for patients, assisting the veterinary surgeons, theatre, imaging, laboratory work, nurse clinics and general housekeeping. You will join the RVN team and share a responsibility in supporting our Student Nurses.

You will share the week with another RVN and be required to work 3 days per week on a Monday, Tuesday, and Friday although this can be discussed. You will not be required to work weekends unless cover is needed where you will be allocated time off in lieu for the hours covered. There are no OOHs, these are provided by Vets Now.

Salary for this role is up to £17,400 depending on experience.

About Us

Thanet Vets is a first opinion small animal practice on the South East Coast. We have been providing the local community with excellent veterinary care for over 50 years.

Our main site is located in Margate and we have a consulting only branch in Birchington where we hold a cat only clinics and also has a lovely Cattery attached.

At our main site in Margate we have a comprehensive in-house laboratory, digital radiography, dental radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, bronchoscopy, anaesthetic monitoring equipment and TPLO equipment.

We are surrounded by sandy beaches, with close links to ferries and the train for various destinations across Europe. We are also within reasonable distance to London for City visits. We are active within our community and as such have built a loyal client base.

About The Team And Culture

We currently have 5.5 Veterinary Surgeons, 7.5 RVNs (including yourself), 1 SVN, 1 ACA and 10 Support team members.

We have certificate holders in Anaesthesia, Surgery and 3 studying for certificates in Imaging, Ophthalmology and Surgery. Our Head Nurse has a feline certificate. Therefore, we have ample experience to support specific interests you may have and encourage you to further your career in areas that interest and excite you.

We love to socialise with each other outside the work environment and as such provide 2 team events per year as well as our Christmas Party. Applicant Requirements

You must be registered with the RCVS, as we have ample experience within the nursing team and newly qualified RVNs will be considered. A valid driving licence is ideal for you to drive our practice ambulance.
