This role will play a crucial role in working to achieve the vision and purpose of which is to work with and be led by iwi / Māori to return those tamariki Māori in State Care to whānau, hapū and iwi based on whakapapa, whenua and whanaungatanga, and to prevent tamariki Māori coming into State Care.

Mō te tūnga About the... role
The purpose of this role is to support the engagement with iwi and kaupapa Māori organisations by :
• Navigating and managing effectively and efficiently key relationships with iwi and kaupapa Māori organisations and Oranga Tamariki staff at all levels.
• Leading and managing the delivery of co-design outputs and milestones from commissioning through to growing across the Whānau Care model of delivery.
• Supporting the design and implementation of services with iwi and kaupapa Māori organisations in specific sites / regions to successfully transform care services.
Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu What you will bring
We are looking for candidates who are passionate about making a difference for tamariki Māori. If you demonstrate the following skills / experience, we encourage you to apply :
• An ability to establish and grow relationships to collaborate with Iwi, hapū, whānau, community groups, as well as internally across the organisation
• Strong understanding of key Maori cultural principles including : Mana Tamaiti, Manaakitanga, Whakamana Tangata, Mana Whenua and Mana Motuhake
• Ability to participate confidently and competently in situations that involve Mātauranga Māori and Te Reo Māori
• Experience managing timelines and delivering outcomes to plan including : communications, budgets, and reporting
• Experience leading stakeholders the development, design, and implementation of complex ideas and innovations into effective practice
• Experience contributing to and creating strategy and policy that will impact community outcomes
• Understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural practices in particular; knowledge of tikanga Māori, and Pacific peoples' culture
