Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity

We have a huge pipeline of piling work, and we now have some great openings for experienced Piling Hands working on major projects across the country. This role is based in Auckland but you will have the amazing opportunity to travel throughout the North Island in this fantastic position with the Downer kapa.

Tasks include:
• Loading and unloading building and construction materials, tools and equipment and transporting them around building sites
• Digging holes and shovelling excavated material onto conveyors, wheelbarrows and trucks... for removal
• Spreading and levelling soil, gravel and sand on roads and driveways, trench bottoms and similar locations

We are looking for hard working, team players who take pride in delivering quality work and are committed to placing health & safety above all else.

You will need:
• A genuine zest for working in construction
• Ability to work in a challenging environment on your own or in a team
• Strong communication, time management skills and initiative
• Flexibility
• Proven practical experience in a contracting environment preferred
• Practical experience in a contracting environment an advantage
• Practical experience in piling operations to include sheet piling and concrete piling preferred
• Practical carpentry experience preferred
• Strong communication and relationship building
• Be hard working, reliable and motivated
• A strong focus on plant care and maintenance
• Strong Health & Safety focus
• At least one year of relevant experience
• Welding capability is a must
