Type and Location : Educational & Developmental / Adelaide Listed By : Government of South Australia, Department for Education on 12 May 2023 We are looking for Principal Practitioners to contribute to the development of a new mental health service in selected secondary schools. The position is a statewide role which provides leadership and contributes to a clinical governance framework for the school mental health service, including service design and guiding the development of relevant policies, procedures and guidelines. The Principal Mental Health Practitioner will also ensure appropriate professional supervision and support is available for the AHP3 school mental health practitioners, who will be recruited to deliver the service in selected schools. Qualifications:
Essential:
• A Bachelor qualification or specialist/post graduate qualification in Psychology
• Registration with the requisite professional body - AHPRA
• Approved supervisor with appropriate registration board - Psychology Board of Australia
Desirable: Specialist qualifications in mental health service provision.
Special Conditions:
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry.
The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.
