Dillon’s Energy Transition (ET) business unit is looking for Electrical & Mechanical specialists with various technical skill sets and levels of experience to join Dillon’s multidisciplinary team of professionals. You will have the opportunity to work on new and exciting projects while providing... clients with a fully integrated and superior customer experience.

Responsibilities

Project Management
• Manage and lead multidisciplinary project teams (including electrical, mechanical, transportation, municipal and structural engineers, transportation systems planners, planners, environmental scientists, technical support staff, etc.).
• Manage feasibility studies, design activities, and construction delivery related primarily to our Industrial & Agrifood client segment while leading, coordinating, and performing techno-economic analysis and studies related to the integration of energy transition solutions and mitigation of Scope 1, 2, and/or 3 emissions.
• Manage and apply for applicable government funding, grants and financing.
• Lead in providing quality client services, with particular emphasis on the Industrial & Agrifoods renewable electrical and thermal energy market.
• Coordinate team activities to maintain project schedules and ensure successful project completion.
• Business travel to other Dillon offices upon request.

Design
• Contribute to and manage technical scopes of work associated with the specification, design, procurement and construction of energy storage, thermals systems, renewable energy and microgrid projects.
• Complete assigned projects from initial concept to construction and commissioning.
• Prepare electrical and mechanical designs for projects including hydrogen, renewables, thermal systems, low-carbon fuel projects, and integration of low-carbon fuels to achieve decarbonization targets.
• Conduct documentation reviews including design drawings and specifications, equipment shop drawings, testing reports, and operation and maintenance documentation.
• Conduct site visits to review installed equipment, perform equipment tests and troubleshooting and assess the building energy systems to ensure they meet design intent, code requirements, and performance standards.
• In association with our energy modelling team, process and analyze energy data, assist with the development of energy models, and other simulations, to assess building performance and energy conservation measures.
• Develop documentation and reports for a variety of project types.

Qualifications

What you will need to succeed
• Post-secondary education in a related field: engineering alternative energy technology, sustainable development, energy management.

Experience
• A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in the energy sector, preferably in the consulting industry. Individuals with significantly more years of experience are encouraged to apply and would see additional responsibilities added to the position.
• Preparation of electrical or mechanical system designs.
• Preparation of project specifications for material and equipment purchase and installation.
• Demonstrated success in project management and business development of Renewable Energy projects including Energy Audits, Decarbonisation Studies and/or Recommissioning
• Proven experience in the review of internal and external designs for code compliance, good design practice and constructability.
• Maintaining complete project documentation with respect to design and construction, including all completion packages, as-built requirements and return data information.
• Demonstrated success leading teams of technical professionals on multi-disciplinary projects.
• Experience assisting manufacturing or agri-food and beverage clients measure and mitigate Scope 1, 2, and/or 3 emissions would be considered an asset.
• Understanding mechanical and thermal integration for facilities' energy recovery, building mechanical systems design codes and standards, and carbon capture and storage would be considered an asset.
• Understanding the electrical components of substations, and transmission line design for renewable energy-related projects is an asset.
• Design of transmission facilities including line layout, foundations, structure configuration, structure, insulation and conductor specification would be considered an asset.
• Experience in electrical power and distribution design, fault protection and protective relay design for power utilities is an asset.
• Proficiency in providing technical leadership to a team of professionals.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
