Boeing Space, Intelligence & Weapons Systems has an exciting opportunity for Associate and Experienced Electronics Packaging Design Engineers (Levels 2 and 3) to join us as part of our Electronics Packaging team located in El Segundo, CA. (Los Angeles, California)

The growing Electronics Packaging team focuses the majority of their time on Satellite missions. However, our diverse development portfolio provides opportunities to learn with exposure to the breadth of the Boeing product line – approximately half our design work is within the Space & Launch business unit, and half is from other parts of Boeing (AvionX; Missiles & Weapons; Strike, Surveillance and Mobility; and Autonomous Systems).

Using first principals thinking, Engineers will work on electronic packaging designs and take it from cradle to grave. Computer aided design, board layout, thermal and vibration analysis, testing, manufacturing support, and more will become your expertise and daily bread.

This worksite participates in Boeing’s optional 9/80 schedule rotation. 9/80 is a rotation in which employees can work 9 hour shifts, 8 days per pay period (bi-weekly) and receive every other Friday off.

Position Responsibilities
• Coordinate with multi-discipline groups to develop and understand requirements and develop high-level and detailed designs consistent with those requirements.
• Guides structural design and configuration development by performing trade studies to optimize structure and meet program requirements.
• Performs detailed structural and thermal analysis using hand calculations and analysis tools.
• Documents structural analyses and data, required to show compliance with Boeing, customer and regulatory requirements, at a module, slice, and unit level.
• Collaborate with Electrical Engineering team to perform sizing and placement studies, as well as layout and route printed circuit boards (PCBs).
• Validates designs through various methods of review, testing and analysis.
• Develops, deploys and supports new processes and process improvement to enable efficient performance of engineering tasks to reduce cycle time and drive product improvements.
• Conducts Root Cause and Corrective Action to investigates failures and go-forward plans.
• Identifies, tracks and statuses technical performance measures to measure progress and ensure compliance with requirements.
• Supports Supplier Management with make/buy recommendations and other technical services of limited scope.
• Investigates emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.
• Works under general direction.

This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in El Segundo (Los Angeles, CA), California.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
• All candidates will meet Export control Requirements and have a Bachelor&39;s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
• Level 2: Associate Engineer will have a Master&39;s Degree - OR - 1&43; years of experience in electronic packaging design/analysis
• Level 3: Experienced Engineer will have a Master&39;s degree, and 1&43; years of experience in electronic packaging design/analysis - OR - 3&43; years of experience in electronic packaging design/analysis
• Experience requirement is based post-graduation of Bachelors Degree program. Internships with specific electronics packaging focus may be considered as part of the overall experience with a max of 3 months &39;credit&39; towards experience requirement

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance is a plus
• An Active Secret, Top Secret, or Top Secret/ SCI U.S. Security Clearance is a major plus
• Experience within aerospace or related industry or with space electronics is a major plus
• Experience with Creo design software and 3D modeling tools will make this engineer ready to hit the ground running, day 1
• Experience with ANSYS analysis software will make this engineer ready to hit the ground running, day 1
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate across multiple disciplines with internal and external customers will make this engineer ready to hit the ground running, day 1
• Computer proficiency and ability to use and navigate the internet and various computer software programs (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite) will make this engineer ready to hit the ground running, day 1
• Skill and ability to collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources will make this engineer ready to hit the ground running, day 1

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years&39; related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Typical Summary Pay Range:

Level 2: $95,000 - $120,000

Level 3: $119,000 - $131,000
