JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking experienced, detail-oriented Structural Engineer(s), for residential, commercial and/or industrial projects located throughout Vancouver island. The position is based in Nanaimo, and relocation assistance is possible, for the right candidate.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Design/inspection of structures in accordance with the relevant codes.
• Be familiar with local building codes and city ordinances.
• Ideal candidate will have structural design/inspection experience in wood and concrete.
• Experience designing with steel and masonry would be a plus.
• Experience with Autocad a plus, but not necessary
• Be able to interpret blueprints and other construction documents.
• Communicate with clients, contractors, architects, owners, and other engineers.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• Degree in civil engineering, with emphasis on structural
• 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience in structural engineering of wood, concrete, steel, and/or masonry
•... P.Eng. or Engineer-in-Training status with EGBC, preferred
• Ability to contribute in a team environment\
• Works with enthusiasm and dedication
• Exhibits high degree of integrity and honesty
• Ability to multi-task to meet project deadlines, while maintaining a high quality of work

TECHNICAL SKILLS:
• Working knowledge of structural engineering programs such as S-Frame, Risa, SAFI, a plus
• AutoCAD (2D)
• MS office, including Word, Excel, Outlook

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $60,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
