Elevation Procurement & Supply Chain are delighted to be partnering with a Doncaster based Industrial Manufacturing business in the search for their new Supply Chain Manager.Our client has trebled their growth in the past 10 years and have recently invested heavily in new cutting-edge machinery to improve their already-outstanding offering to their Blue Chip customer base. The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for the procurement, movement and storage of raw materials, work in progress, finished goods, and spare parts.You'll ensure the volume and availability of raw materials and components are correct for the production process and for spare part sales, as well as manage storage, handling, and distribution of all goods inward and outwards.Responsibilities:As a supply chain manager, you will:* Manage and take overall responsibility for the procurement, stock & warehouse, and sales & customer service parts department managers* Allocate and manage staff resources according to... changing needs* Motivate, train, coach and appraise your team* Implement new systems and processes across all departments with specific focus on stock management and control* Use IT systems to manage stock levels, delivery times and transport costs* Implement regular stock takes with accurate costing system* Implement a system for work in progress costing* Initiate a culture change in attitudes towards, stock control, wastage, and cost control* Manage the process of negotiating contracts with suppliers for best value and rebates* Plan and implement processes for logistics/storage of WIP/finished goods* Create plans for future demand by collaborating with the machine sales departments* Managing and control import and export requirements, duties, and responsibilities* Manage and minimise the risks (for example operational or reputational) that could affect or interrupt the supply chain Experience and Background:* Coming from a Materials management background is essential* Experience of Supply Chain Management with SME sized / Owner Managed businesses is essential* Experience of managing the full supply chain within an industrial engineering environment is essential* Experience of improving the overall supply chain performance and look for any possible innovations to the process* Have clear ability in developing new and existing relationships with suppliers* Must be able to be on site 5 days per week in DoncasterIf you have the right industrial background and can get to the site in Doncaster during the week you might be the right for this excellent, progressive opportunity!
