Senior Accountant

Overview

Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Accountant assists the Controller in the day-to-day operations. The Senior Accountant will be involved in all aspects of the accounting department, focusing on the general ledger, including month-end close and assisting with the accurate and timely preparation of the financial statements and management reports.

Responsibilities
• Maintain balance sheet accounts, including preparation and posting of journal entries
• Assist in completing month-end close processes and account reconciliations
• Maintain and update accounting schedules
• Maintain and verify payroll totals, withholding taxes and deductions
• Research and resolve account reconciling items
• Assess current practices and procedures, and make recommendations for improvements
• Work with external auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting at year-end
• Other special projects impacting financial reporting

Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 3 to 5 years of progressive accounting experience
• Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Detail-oriented
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all levels of an organization
• Deltek Vision experience required
