Position Summary: The Technical Sales Engineer will interact with prospective and current customers to propose software solutions using the FRACPRO software suite with the objective of growing market share and revenue. In this role, you will manage the sales process to track opportunities, document key sales activities and provide excellent customer service. This role will also need to follow upstream industry trends while proactively working with the software development team to create new fit-for-purpose software or update existing software capabilities.
Key Roles / Responsibilities:
Solution Sales
• Maintain an expert level of knowledge of the FRACPRO software suite including new releases and ability to demonstrate usage of new features by conducting software demos.
• Establish and build relationships with key clients while applying extensive field experience and expertise to match customer needs with applicable software or service solution.
• Maintain the health of existing customer base, upsell or cross-sell by promoting new software features and benefits.
• Optimize sales opportunities through in-depth knowledge of client activities and plans and document customer activity and sales opportunities through effective use of CRM systems/processes.
• Support the software development team by providing real world use cases and feedback on usability, practicality, and value of existing and new software features inclusive of testing new features prior to release.
• Monitor price structure and pricing levels and recommend price increases and/or other necessary changes to price structure.
• Ensure timely management of software Maintenance & Support renewal.
• Provide support for Account Receivables management.
Marketing and Customer Support
• Partner with marketing department to develop marketing collateral to promote products (provide website information, create presentations, blogs, user forums, and other media).
• Proactively benchmark competitors' websites, conduct research necessary to understand trends and features presented.
• Determine nature of customer inquiries; troubleshoot, resolve issues when possible or escalate to the right technical expert and proactively follow up with the customer to ensure inquiry has been resolved.
• Assist in developing Training materials and delivering customer training courses.
Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
• Two (2) or more years of software sales experience is a must.
• Five (5) or more years' experience in the oil and gas industry is preferred.
• Knowledge of hydraulic fracturing treatment design, on-site supervision and QC of stimulation treatments, and post-treatment analysis and optimization are a plus.
• Excellent computer skills.
• Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Strong relationship management skills.
• Proven ability to influence and motivate potential buyers.
• Good time management skills.
Working Conditions:
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
• Positions self to install equipment, including under desks.
• Moves throughout the building to access files.
• Must be able to comprehend and follow written and oral instructions.
• Must be able to complete tasks even with frequent interruptions.
• Must be able to use discretion and independent judgment as needed.
• Must be able to speak clearly on the phone and to fellow workers.
