Senior Occupational Therapist

Based at CRC Waterford Specialist Services in CHO5

Specified Purpose Contract, Full time, 35 hours per week

This is an exciting and unique opportunity to join the CRC specialist service in CHO 5. This service will work with Children’s Disability Network Teams and primary care to support the delivery of quality service for children presenting with needs as a result of physical disability.

The successful candidate must have the following essential requirements:

· A recognised Occupational Therapy qualification and current registration with CORU

· Three years relevant post qualification experience including working with children with disabilities

· Experience working with children and/or adults with physical disability in one or more of the following areas – Complex Tone; Upper Limb and Hand Therapy; FEDS (Feeding, Eating, Drinking and Swallowing); Neuromuscular; BPI (Brachial Plexus Injury); Alternative and Augmentative communication and/or Assistive... Technology

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, initiative and time management skills

· Flexibility and strong teamwork skills

Desirable requirements

· Experience of delivering education on Occupational Therapy for children with physical disability

· Conducting or assisting with relevant research for this client group

· Advanced CPD and/ or postgraduate education in relevant areas of children with physical disability

· Experience in service development and practice standards development

· Experience in coordinating and leading specialist clinics, working at a consultative level alongside Consultant Paediatricians and therapists

· Experience in managing databases and conducting audits
