A fantastic opportunity to work alongside a highly experienced team of SEN staff in a special school located just outside of Taunton, in the small village, Hambridge. Their aim is to support pupils' growth, they provide a safe and supportive environment where learning becomes an enjoyable experience. In 2019, the school were the winners of the Positive Behaviour Support Award at the National Learning Disabilities and Autism Awards.

Students at the school will have speech and language delay, impairments or disorder, along with Autistic Spectrum Conditions and/ or moderate and severe learning difficulties. The team have an incredible amount of knowledge and experience of working with cognitive and learning (SEMH) Your role offers support to both students and tutors, ensuring their learning needs are met with a positive attitude. You must show... confidence and be an excellent role model to pupils, in addition to being flexible to follow instructions from peers.

You will be planning and leading sessions that are tailored to support the students' individual learning needs. You will work alongside senior staff members to devise lesson plans, however you must enter this role with experience lesson planning for SEN students. Although you will be covering general lessons, specific subjects will need extra attention, including English and Maths.

The hours of work will be 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, term time only. You will be working with pupils in Key Stage 4, which is entry level for GCSE. This is only a small class of students, which allows you to build rapports with students; however the school is going to have further students join throughout the year.
