Purpose of the role
Within the Global Tax Planning Team an Associate Director Global Tax Planning position has become available. The Associate Director will primarily be responsible for providing tax and transfer pricing support to our companies in the Latin America region. The responsibilities are broad and range from monitoring and reviewing transfer pricing policy, strategy and outcomes to managing and supporting tax audits. Also, you will be the point of contact for supporting local and regional business development... activities from a tax and transfer pricing perspective, as well as legal entity (re-)structuring initiatives. The Global Tax Planning Team initiates projects on its own and supports projects initiated by other departments. Being part of the Global Tax Planning Team will entail that you will be involved and may lead such projects.
Welcome in our team
The Global Tax Planning team is a team that consists of several members in Oss (6 employees) (The Netherlands), Tokyo (1 employee) (Japan) and Rahway (1 employee) (NJ, USA). The Global Tax Planning team provides tax support to our entities outside of the US and Canada and has a focus on Human Health (HH), Animal Health (AH) and our Manufacturing Division (MMD). The team works in close collaboration with the Indirect Tax Planning team, also located in Oss (3 employees) (The Netherlands) as well as with the US based tax and transfer pricing teams.
Main responsibilities
• Design, implement and monitor the business model & transfer pricing principles for our entities in the Latin America region;
• Support business development activities, changes in applicable business (models) and financial supply chains, as well as financing and legal entity (re-)structuring initiatives;
• Support any local tax audits & controversies by establishing the audit defense strategy & approach and advise upon any corporate tax audit settlements and/or litigations;
• Be involved in and lead various projects;
• Provide day-to-day tax support to the business & finance teams.
In the capacity of Associate Director Global Tax Planning you will work closely together with your colleagues in the corporate tax department including subject matter expert teams in transfer pricing, tax accounting & reporting and indirect- and employee taxes.
In addition, you will work closely together with the business, business development teams, treasury, trade compliance, legal as well as with regional & local finance teams. You will not be responsible for tax compliance and/or tax accounting.
Your profile
• Master’s degree in Tax Law or Tax Economics;
• At least 7+ years of (combined) experience in an international tax role within a public accounting or law firm and/or an in-house tax team of a multinational company, where solid experience has been built in respect of:
• Transfer pricing both theoretical and operational
• Tax planning for business development and legal (re-)structuring initiatives, as well as financial supply chains
• Tax audit and controversy management
• Project management
• Ability to identify indirect tax and custom duty consequences
• Ability to work independently with a high level of ownership;
• Persistent and result driven;
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills;
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English. Additional language skills in Spanish, Portuguese and/or Dutch are a plus.
