General Summary The Cumberland County/Mid Coast Region Homeless Service Hub Coordinator will be responsible for the day- to-day operation of the homeless response system for one of nine service hubs in the state, including:
convening and facilitating collaboration among providers across the Hub service area implementing and managing the Hub's Coordinated Entry process for individuals and families experiencing homelessness Lead a continuous quality improvement process for the Hub, including tracking Hub-level performance data, projects, and work plans NOTE:
This position serves as... neutral backbone support for the implementation and maintenance of Hub-level collaborative work and does not serve on behalf of any specific agency within the Hub.
The position will work with the Statewide Homeless Council, the Maine Continuum of Care, and MaineHousing (as the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) Lead) to coordinate homeless planning efforts.
Essential Functions Community Collaboration Serve as Community Liaison for the Homeless Response Service Hub Team Engage new partners in the local Homeless Response System Facilitate Hub meetings and case conferencing Attend relevant community meetings and provide information/presentations on Homeless Services Coordinate and align local partners together on service delivery and housing inventory efforts If applicable:
serve as Team lead for Hub's work as part of the Built for Zero collaboratives (if Hub is selected, TBD, early 2022) Resource Coordination Maintain a database of homeless response providers and partners, including all essential resources for individuals and families experiencing homelessness Identify partners to participate in response efforts such as the Point in Time Count and Built for Zero activities Seek out flexible funding opportunities from local businesses and foundations Operations and Training Provide general support and coordination to all Coordinated Entry-related projects and activities for the Hub Implement and oversee reporting system and data tracking tools for Coordinated Entry, including responsibility for the Hub Data Dashboard Coordinate the annual Point in Time Unsheltered Count for the Hub Act as the point of contact for Homelessness Diversion activities for the Hub Coordinate training for service providers and partners Provide training on Rapid Resolution for providers and partners Work with MaineHousing to plan and implement report development and distribution Skills and
Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships and work with diverse teams representing various disciplines and all levels of staff Strong facilitation skills and experience communicating effectively in front of groups Excellent communication skills - oral, written, listening Training in Rapid Resolution/Diversion (preferred) Understanding of systemic causes of homelessness and familiarity with permanent housing and services models for vulnerable individuals and families Familiarity with HUD's expectations of Coordinated Entry Systems Strong project management, time management, and organizational skills Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Workspace and experience with complex data systems Strong data analysis and reporting skills Ability to take the initiative, work independently, and utilize creative and analytical skills to resolve issues Preferred Education Education in social services, public administration, or related field and four years of experience in project management, facilitation, and data evaluation and reporting or a combination of education, training, and experience preferred Supervisory Responsibility None Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment.
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
UWSM's COVID-19 Policy requires employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (or receive a reasonable accommodation) before starting.
We currently operate in a hybrid work environment, mostly remote (work-from-home), with limited in-person activities.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position based on grant funding.
The current grant runs for one year and is expected to be renewed.
Days and work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:
30 a.
m.
to 5 p.
m.
This position may require long hours, including early morning meetings, evening events, and weekend work during peak times.
Travel Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
