The Colorado Coalition for the Homeless seeks an RN Weekend Supervisor, Recuperative Care to work collaboratively within an Integrated Health Care for the Homeless team to support participants in the Recuperative Care programs at CCH and oversees weekend program function. The RN, Weekend Supervisor is responsible for providing direct client care and supervision of client care work and direct supervision of other weekend team members which may include other RNs, LPNS, Medical Assistants, CNAs, Resident Assistants, and Behavioral Health Technicians throughout the SSRCC as appropriate. This position will help support and lead an integrated team to provide a safe, supportive, healing, therapeutic, harm-reduction, and trauma-informed environment for individuals healing from an acute medical need. This position is located at 2175 California St., Denver, CO 80205 and reports to the RN Manager.

Qualified candidates are eligible for the NURSE Corps Loan Repayment Program which offerspayment of 60% of unpaid nursing education debt in exchange for a two-year commitment at a NURSE Corps approved site with an option to extend to a third year for an additional 25% of the original balance.

NOTE: In order to ensure that our consumers receive the best possible care the candidate chosen to fill this position will be required to complete our internal credentialing and privileging process prior to a start date. The credentialing and privileging timeline is dependent on the selected candidate's submission of documents necessary for clearance. Please note that a start date will be scheduled once credentialing and privileging is complete.

Essential Job Functions
• Provides skilled nursing care within RN scope according to accepted community standards.
• Directly supports weekend staff including LPNs, Medical Assistants, CNAs, EMTs, Behavioral Health Technicians, and clinical volunteers (when present/applicable). May directly supervise weekend-only staff.
• Performs various personnel actions related to hiring, orientation, onboarding, performance appraisals, and counseling with support from supervisor.
• Holds regular 1:1 supervision with direct reports, including permanent, temporary, agency, or volunteer staff who are filling these roles. Provides feedback, coaching, mentorship, training, support, competency evaluations, and performance management feedback.
• Maintains a high standard of care on the team by offering or assigning relevant trainings, by providing clear expectations of best practices, policies, and procedures, by evaluating staff with quality assurance metrics, such as auditing direct client care and documentation practices, monitoring environment of care, and supporting remediation or counseling as necessary.
• Efficiently manages continuous responsibilities of role, including but not limited to scheduling, timesheets, Safety event reporting, staff completion of mandatory trainings, punctuality, and attendance to pertinent meetings, and ensuring team’s adherence to policies, procedures, and standard work.
• Ensures all staff members are practicing within scope of practice in accordance with the State of Colorado.
• Participates in and leads quality improvement activities for the Respite program in collaboration with Integrated Health Management Team. Shares knowledge with and coaches other Nursing Services team or inter-disciplinary members on quality improvement & LEAN methodology.
• Performs plan of care interventions, including specimen collection, wound care, and other clinical needs.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation when needed.
• Empowers patients by providing appropriate ongoing and reinforced health education and information after initial RN education plan is created and provided, including but not limited to addressing common chronic and acute health conditions in this population, such as diabetes management, hypertension management, nutrition, wound care, and disease prevention.
• Administers medications following written protocols or direct provider order. Understands limitations of medications within RN scope.
• Preceptor to new staff members and nursing students.
• Attends required disciplinary, inter-disciplinary, suite, quality improvement, and all-staff meetings.
• Maintains EPM, EHR, and other documentation core competencies.
• Works collaboratively with all facility employees to ensure optimal facility operations and that client services are not interrupted; may perform other duties as needed for program operation.
• Meet required COVID-19 vaccination(s), as defined by applicable law, regulation, or guidance from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Summary
• Successful completion of an ANA-accredited Registered Nursing program required.
• Active Registered Nurse license with ability to work in the state of Colorado required.
• Minimum of 3 years cumulative/total nursing experience is required. Minimum of 3 years nursing with experience in a public health, hospital, or community health setting is preferred.
• Prior management/supervisory experience in a healthcare or other industry setting strongly preferred. Leadership experience as demonstrated by initiative, team support, program building, etc. in a healthcare setting required.
• Current Basic Life Support certification required.
• Passion for working with vulnerable populations with a focus on trauma-informed care is necessary.
• Passion for working in a harm reduction environment with a focus on collaborative goal planning with patients is necessary. Experience in harm reduction environments is preferred.
