An exciting opportunity has become available to manage, maintain and contribute to the to the property and reinsurance activities within the Business Underwriting and market pricing centre of excellence.

Key responsibilities :
• Support and oversee Business risk underwriting activity including risk selection, referrals, submissions and authorisations, in particular for Property portfolios.
• To drive value for our Business customers and valued partners and generate quality growth.
• Actively support, encourage and embed collegiate ways of working... amongst like disciplines within Portfolio and Product teams and across Suncorp New Zealand to leverage knowledge and capability to maximise business outcomes.
• Ensure effective delivery of underwriting and technical training and support material to underwriting licence holders, and intermediaries where required.
• Contribute to Business audits and QA programmes.
• Support the development and delivery of digitisation and automation activities.

What we are looking for :
• At least 5 years industry experience in a variety of senior underwriting authority roles
• Extensive senior experience in the insurance market environment, ideally with a commercial context
• Strong understanding of the NZ commercial sector
• Exemplary customer focus
• Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to effectively resolve conflict
• Leadership, and innovation management skills, consultation, influencing and negotiation capability
• The ability to provide sound strategic advice and provide mentoring / coaching to others
