Job purpose The Category Marketing Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of category marketing strategies, goals and operational plans and accountable for the assigned categories performance delivery in terms of net sales, profitability, market share, brand(s) equity in the short and long term, across total UA & CIS hub. The Category Marketing Manager is responsible for ensuring that we make the right strategic choices through portfolio prioritization to drive gross profit through effective resource allocation and the management of an A&P budget. A key part of the role will be influencing a number of key strategic area partners (CEE Marketing Managers/ brand leaders), to ensure that we are influencing the Global model effectively, followed by superb execution in UA & CIS markets. The individual will be responsible for leading the business alignment through and across a multi functional commercial team and support functions across categories to deliver execution... focused effective marketing plan to hit sales, profit and share targets. The role of the individual is also to manage assigned brands within the category and execute brand management activities. Key responsibilities Define category & brand business strategy, category & brand vision, and execution at a senior level Excellent commercial acumen ensuring P&L targets are executed Overall responsibility over assigned categories & brands portfolio whilst managing matrixed relationships to effectively deliver strong in market plans which deliver against GSK financial commitments Adapt the global category vision and drivers with local consumer/shopper/expert/customer insight to deliver a strong category growth vision for Ukraine & CIS Leverage the global innovation and brand plan toolkits for the local market delivering initiatives along the consumer experience journey to drive GSK category and brands growth Develop portfolio prioritization and ensure effective resource allocation of A&P across the most optimal consumer/shopper and expert touch points to deliver best in class execution of GSK portfolio Brand management responsibilities, including brand strategy, connections and commercial planning and activation, leading local insight, P&L management, for assigned brands within categories Act as line manager for BMs, EMM working for the respective categories portfolio Requirements At least 10 years in marketing with proven track record in leading FMCG or OTC businesses; At least 5 years in brand management (as a leader of the brand); Proven ability in P&L management and excellent commercial acumen Evidence of defining business strategy, brand vision, execution at a senior level. Extensive experience in managing matrix global relationships to effectively deliver strong in market plans. Significant experience in brand marketing with OTC or FMCG, developing brand strategies and activation plans Experience across commercial functions including either direct account management or category management or trade/customer marketing. Experience of influencing senior business stakeholders through strategic thinking and planning, vision and strategy creation, communication and influencing commercial acumen and budget management An understanding of consumer research or related fields (e.g. understanding and providing insight regarding people’s needs, attitudes, motivations, and behaviour) Experience in digital development, implementation, analytics Detailed understanding of Ukraine, BEL, CC trade across all channels, and consumer/shopper behaviour within each channel In-depth knowledge and understanding of local/national consumer and shopper trends and business environment factors Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, Ukrainian and Russian
