Electrical Resident Engineer - Cork

Approx. 18-20 months.

Salary – 55-65k DOE.

Optimize is working with an expanding Engineering firm, who are recruiting for a M&E Resident Engineer who will be based on a site in Cork.

Requirements/Education:
• Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Previous experience in a similar role.
• Experience of engaging with external stakeholder, clients, sub-contractors.
• Excellent level of English both oral and written.

Duties/Responsibilities:
• Middleman between design and construction team.
• Review drawings and coordinate if required.
• Attend weekly site meetings with main contractor and M&E contactors.
• Continuous QA/QC snagging and issuing weekly snag lists for duration of project.
• Check all works completed on site and advise contractors when works are being completed incorrectly or unacceptable.
• Ensure that Mechanical and Electrical works are carried out to the client's standards, national standards... specifications, correct materials, workmanship, and schedules.
• Write weekly report which will be issued to the client and the project manager which will summarise site progress.
• Identify technical problems on site and make recommendation for corrective action.
• Allow for a 4-week period following practical completion to review O&M documentation and close out remaining snags.
