Your Opportunity:

The Alberta Health Services' (AHS) Patient Access Management (PAM) Department helps Albertans get the right care, at the right place, and at the right time by supporting AHS scheduled health services in improving their patient access management processes, patient access analytics, and communication practices. Reporting to the Executive Director and responsible to the managers within the department, the Content and eLearning Developer is an experienced professional who is highly adept in content creation using various modalities for the purpose of education, communication, and promotion. Experience with the modalities of interactive online learning, promotional videos, website content, traditional education manuals, and multi-level communication materials is required. The ideal candidate will be experienced with effective instructional communication, stakeholder communication, and curriculum development for the purposes of promotion, understanding, change adoption... and sustainment. The incumbent will bring their own ideas for creating effective and impactful content and eLearning modules for the purpose of supporting PAM with adopting a fresh approach to reaching and educating our stakeholders.

Description:

This role will work closely with PAM subject matter experts (SMEs) to understand their areas of responsibility and target audience, to develop meaningful content. In addition, this role will provide writing and editing support as required for SMEs, as well as develop outlines, write video scripts, envision and create graphics, and work with AHS Learning Department to produce final modules. The eLearning modules will cover a variety of subject areas including, but not limited to, Path to Care, the Alberta Referral Directory (ARD), Patient Access Policy, Data Literacy, and Access Analytics for patient access improvement. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable in learning design principles, writing for educational purposes, and creating engaging content to illustrate basic to complex concepts and processes for adult learners. The role requires an understanding of the importance of organizational branding and will ensure that content development adheres to AHS guidelines and standards. The ideal candidate is a highly organized self-starter with the ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines with flexibility and has excellent communication and interpersonal skills. This role requires experience with eLearning software such as Adobe Captivate (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), plus the Microsoft Office Suite. This individual can work within the required parameters of the position, while still developing content that is innovative, highly creative, and visually appealing.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in relevant area from an accredited college or university. Three years of related experience. At management discretion, additional equivalent experience and/or ALPA experience with proven expertise may be substituted for the above.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Five years of experience with eLearning software such as Adobe Captivate (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), plus the Microsoft Office Suite. Proficiency level of expert. Three to five years of experience in technical writing. Three to five years of adult education experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum two years of experience working in a health setting or other large organization. Strong understanding of various clinical information systems (e.g., Connect Care). Experience developing e-learning tools with MyLearningLink. Five or more years of related experience strongly preferred
