Report to Managing Director & Contracts Director Responsible for the preparation & submission of tenders Study & review the tender documents, which include specifications, drawings, commercial requirements and technical requirements Administer all contracts and progress claims Oversee a team of Quantity Surveyors and check on their works Assist in the budgetary control of projects Negotiation and award of subcontractors and suppliers Arrange agreements with subcontractors and suppliers Liaison with customer's representatives, relevant authorities and consultants Co-ordinate with the relevant departments on commercial items e.g. insurance cover etc Co-ordinate and obtain technical information in order to do cost estimates Where required, to carry out material take-off including man-hours estimates obtaining material/equipment prices from both local and overseas suppliers obtaining quotes on services and subcontracting works Attend site visits and... clarification meetings with the customer, architects, consultants and/or relevant parties Compilation of quotations, comparison of quotes, review of prices, selection of competitive prices and summarizing subcontracts, materials and equipments Compilation of unit rates, construction equipment rates and other cost information required for the bid Checking of proposal against tender requirements Taking off quantities Gather quotations and comparison of quotes Prepare tender summary Assist the Project Managers/Site Supervisors in working out quantities for variations and progress claims Prepare the post-contract transfer of documents Prepare budget for project implementation Prepare monthly / bi-monthly progress payments Prepare Final Account for projects including variation orders and extension of time Assist site personnel on sourcing of materials for projects Prepare purchase orders for procurement of materials for projects Attend site meetings, where necessary Attend tender interviews Check and certify on all sub-contractor's and suppliers' claims Keep the Company well-apprised of all matters Take instructions from the Management Ensure you are well acquainted with all projects, monitor the progress of works and assist site personnel to resolve all site construction problems and to ensure smooth running of all projects so as to achieve timely handover to liaise with sub-contractors on the progress of sub-contract works Liaise with sub-contractors on the progress of sub-contract works Undertake any other duties as may reasonably be required by the Company from time to time to facilitate its smooth operations and/or for the proper performance of your employment
