The Department of Communication and the Arts within the emerging College of Human Development, Culture, and Media at Seton Hall University invites applications for a full-time Lecturer of Public Relations/Communication, starting in August 2023. The successful candidate will teach four courses each Fall and Spring semester in our undergraduate and/or graduate programs and will provide service to the Department and its students.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Courses taught may include (but are not limited to) Introduction to Public Relations, Reputation Management/Crisis Communication, Public/Presentational Communication, and Organizational Communication.

Select service activities may include advising the co-curricular Public Relations Student Society of America, the Litore Agency (student-run PR agency), and the Bateman Case Study Competition, along with committee work and student advising.

About the College of Human Development, Culture, and Media and Seton Hall University:

Launching in Fall 2023, the College of Human Development, Culture, and Media will bring together programs in education; human services; digital and visual media and design; the performing arts; arts and society; and communication. The College is envisioned to deliver strong disciplinary preparation and explore new areas to prepare students to excel in the fields of education, human services, communication and the arts and more.

Nested within the new College, the establishment of theSchool of Communication, Media, and the Arts, as well as theSchool of Education and Human Services, will provide foundations to enhance existing strengths and missions, while sharing resources and unifying the faculty across both areas in the exploration, development, and implementation of significant programmatic creation, modification, evaluation, and expansion.Organizationally, both Schools will complement the overarching College unit, and are poised to offer increased specification and tremendous opportunity.

Required Qualifications:
• Master's degree in communication, public relations, strategic communication, marketing, or related field.
• Experience teaching at the college/university level.

Desired Qualifications:
• Professional experience in public relations, strategic communication, marketing, or other communication-related field.
• Experience with student organizations in the disciplines.
