Job Description:
The Department of Applied Physiology and Kinesiology (APK) at the University of Florida (UF) invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, renewable, promotion eligible non-tenure track Lecturer position to begin Fall 2023. Responsibilities related to this position may include, but are not limited to, teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in the areas of Human Anatomy and Physiology, Exercise Physiology, Neurophysiology, Muscle Biology, Biomechanics, Motor Control and Learning, Strength and Conditioning, Exercise Assessment, and/or Prevention and Care of Athletic Injuries; teaching courses in the department's online graduate program and advisement of online graduate students.
The Department is one of the premier applied physiology and kinesiology programs in the world. Currently it employs 29 full-time faculty and enrolls approximately 1,100 students (~900 undergraduate, 230 graduate). UF is the flagship campus of the State University System of Florida and is ranked as the #5 best public US university according to US News and World Report. Anticipated start date is August 16, 2023, but an earlier start date can also be negotiated.
Instructional excellence is supported by university, college, and departmental mechanisms such as the Office of Faculty Development and Teaching Excellence, in-house course design consultants, lecturer promotion and merit pay plans, conference travel, summer teaching and online teaching opportunities, and instructional grant opportunities. This is a 9-month, 1.0 FTE, non-tenure track faculty position; however, summer employment opportunities are possible. Although the primary duties for this position are instructional, involvement in service at the university level is also expected.
Expected Salary:
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. UF offers an outstanding benefits package.
Minimum Requirements:
Position requires a Doctorate degree (or foreign equivalent) in kinesiology, exercise physiology, sports medicine or a closely related discipline.
