Description
Gyosei International School (Junior High and High School) in Kisarazu City, Chiba Prefecture, Japan is a private Catholic school. It is a Japanese school but it has an International Course where the majority of classes are conducted in English.
A Full-time position for a Native English Speaking Teacher is available from April 1, 2023.
Possible combination of:
English teacher for Junior High and High School (Grammar / Reading / Writing classes)
History / Geography / Social Studies teacher for High School
Class Sizes 10-25 students. 18-25 teaching hours per week. Working hours 7:30am-4.30pm Monday-Friday and 7:30am-1:30pm Saturdays. In return of having classes on Saturdays, we have two 5 days mid-term breaks during each term.
Some Public Holidays are working days. Teachers will sometimes be required to work outside these hours for school events and meetings. Paid Summer... (approx 5 weeks), Spring (approx 10 days) and Winter Vacations (approx 13 days) plus five 5 days mid-term breaks each year.
The International Course has one home room class per grade Junior High grades 1,2,3 and High School grades 1,2,3. The successful applicants maybe assigned a homeroom and given responsibility for the care of the students and communication with their parents. They will be required to work closely with a small team of 10 non Japanese teachers in the International Course to monitor student progress and discipline and to develop curriculum. Teachers also need to be prepared to help students academically out of lesson time, to prepare materials for distribution to parents and work together to prepare for school events.
Yearly Contract (renewable long term). Starting salary 3,600,000 yen per year.

Dormitory accommodation is available on the school campus (for very reasonable price).
The School will also happily assist teachers to find suitable accommodation in Kisarazu.
Applicants are required to hold a Bachelors Degree in the relevant subject areas and original transcripts of this degree and the graduation diploma must be submitted to obtain a Japanese teaching license. The school usually hires teachers with teaching qualifications and/or at least two years teaching experience in their subjects or as an ALT in Japan.
