The Opportunity

In order to strengthen our Actuarial team, we are looking for actuaries with experience in pricing and/or product development.
Indeed, evolving customer demands, new technologies, big data and new service models are more... than ever pushing traditional financial services providers into uncharted territory, redefining the entire industry. As actuarial consultants we help our clients in the insurance sector to navigate this fast changing world.

Some examples of domains in which you will support our clients include the following:
• Support insurers in developing new, transparent, personalized products (e.g. Pay As/How You Drive, Pay as You Live, cyber risk exposures, e-bikes and autonomous vehicles, etc.) by the use of dynamic and innovative pricing techniques
• Implement pricing optimization via traditional or non-traditional actuarial techniques (i.e. usage of open data, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning techniques) if we have sufficient data to base ourselves upon ... if datasets are really small, we also dare to revert to less complex approaches
• Conduct profitability studies and support with portfolio rationalization exercises
• Help our Insurance clients automate and enhance underwriting, via better risk selection.

Skills and Attributes for Success
• You have a master in Actuarial Sciences, preferable complemented with relevant working experience.
• You have a technical background and see the value in data and accuracy and spot insights where others see numbers.
• You have strong skills in relevant programming languages (e.g. R, Python, SAS, ...).
• You have a critical and analytical mindset and people skills are one of your greatest assets.
• You are fluent in proficient business English and fluent in Dutch/French.
• You are adventurous and have an entrepreneurial spirit
• Have a can-do mentality
• You love the challenge to connect with different people in an organization (from expert to C-suite)
• You combine a passion for figures with recognizing the importance of a good team spirit
• You are willing to help the team on other actuarial topics if extra hands are needed
