We are seeking a highly motivated (Senior) Research Associate to join BioNTech’s Cancer Immunology team focused on novel T cell receptor (TCR) T cell therapies targeting solid tumors at our Cambridge, MA location. Specifically, this role will be responsible for evaluating combination therapies and T cell modifications to enhance our TCR T cell therapies. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will work closely with other Cell Therapy teams at our US and Germany BioNTech sites.

Responsibilities:

The areas of responsibilities will include but are not limited to
• Culturing of human T cells and cancer cell lines
• Engineering of T cells using viral and non-viral methods
• Performing functional and phenotypic characterization of engineered T cells by multicolor flow cytometry, MSD, and cytotoxicity assays
• Assisting with sample processing and analysis of samples derived from in vivo models to study combination therapies with our TCR T cell therapy
• Tracking and compiling results in an electronic notebook
• Interacting with internal collaborators and external CROs
• Presenting results to other scientific teams

Requirements:
• BS or MS in immunology or related discipline, and 0-3 years relevant work experience
• Hands-on experience with in vitro work and cell culture
• Proactive, self-motivated team player with strong interpersonal skills, appropriate sense of urgency and the ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative environment to meet project goals
• Excellent attention to detail
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and able embrace change, while working to produce key deliverables in accordance with project timelines
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate results to a diverse cross-functional audience
• Curious by nature, highly motivated to learn and advance your skills/knowledge

Nice-to-have:
• Demonstrated experience with flow cytometry and other immune related assays
• Background knowledge on Tcell and cancer biology.
