About the opportunity:Our client is a market leader in providing Commercial and Industrial Electrical/power-based engineering solutions for businesses throughout New Zealand. They are looking to expand their team to meet the demand of their present workload. You will be responsible for further developing this relationship whilst working alongside the team delivering quality projects to a high standard.Role description:They are seeking an initiative-taking QS/Estimator capable of collaborating with the team and delivering multiple concurrent projects each with their own priorities.It is anticipated that you will be responsible for the fiscal management of various projects to assist the Project Management Team to deliver and close out all projects to set budgets. You will work across multiple projects ranging in scale and complexity and have the ability to build strong relationships with a range of stakeholders in relation to a range of commercial activities, ensuring project... contractual conditions are fully understood in relation to commercial delivery of projects. We are looking for a person who can bring innovation and ideas to this role while still working within prescribed guidelines.Responsibilities will include: Experience in collation of site information for estimation purposes. Contract management and reviews Preparing quotations Completing and submitting competitive project bids in accordance with tender guidelines Producing bill of materials Scope, design, and price variation work as necessary Building relationships with the company supplier base Building relationships with the client project management team Budget and cost control Forecasting and monthly claim management Development of subcontractor and supplier agreements Commercial risk management This role will suit someone with all or some following background/experience/qualities: Sound knowledge of 3910 and 3916 construction standards Experience in working to a budget Ability to site manage multiple projects across various sites Be motivated to achieve quality results Assistance in works scheduling and programming A proven track record of successful delivery on past electrical projects. Highly effective written and oral communication skills Excellent interpersonal, negotiating and diplomacy skills A proficient level of understanding of Microsoft Office programmes Establishment of Scope/Design/Work Planning documentation The ability to travel as required to manage projects accordingly Valid Full Driver's Licence About the company:For over 23 years our client has been delivering cutting edge construction and industrial installation services and world-class electrical design solutions.
