What I'll be doing – A day in the life You will 'get the job done' by supporting the construction team / lead procurement and managing the subcontractor and supplier agreements and packages.
You will lead the estimating portion of bids, including liaising with sub-contractors and suppliers... through to the initial commercial setup of successful bids.
Operations 'getting stuff done' Prepare the pricing portion of bids and quotes, and in the process identify the risks and opportunities associated with the bid.
Prepare monthly payment schedules in response to subcontractor payment claims and provided up to date forecasting of final accounts.
Collate documentation to support variation claims Assist the Project Manager formulating and submitting variations Review and recommend resolution of subcontractor variation claims (approval remains with Project Manager) Lead the cost to complete forecasting on assigned projects Support the Project Manager(s) with the collation and submission of monthly claims Skills, Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications I need to be successful Tertiary qualification in either business, law, engineering or quantity surveying 5+ years' business, quantity surveying and/or civil engineering experience in New Zealand Experience in estimating construction project up to $25m Proficient in estimating & programming software.
A working knowledge of CCS Candy software will be a huge advantage.
Ability to enhance supplier & subcontractor relationships through analytical, negotiation and relationship skills A broad understanding of the company's management system requirements Cost and time management skills Basic understanding of Administration – including JDE Contract / subcontract interpretation and management skills Ability to work in a team environment.
