THE CAREER OPPORTUNITY:

Due to growth and a strong pipeline of work, we are looking for an experienced waterproofing Quantity Surveyor (QS) to join our supportive, friendly QS division.

Working across our business divisions, including Projects, Gunac Waterproofing and Building Maintenance, you will be responsible for pricing schedules of work for structured tenders. You will also be involved in... scoping new work and preparing schedules of work to provide solutions and costings to our clients.

Site visits are required in order to assess the work required based on a visual inspection. You will also be a whizz at writing up detailed roof condition reports.

Although your focus will be on waterproofing, we are involved in a multitude of varied projects including:
• Construction (Demolitions, Renovations, Interior Fitouts, New builds, etc.)
• Waterproofing (www.gunac.co.nz)
• Roofing
• Building Maintenance
• Hard landscaping
• Building Washing
• Industrial Abseiling & Height Services

For the right person, exciting key aspects are:

Participation in maintaining a pipeline of upcoming work by maintaining existing and forming new relationships with the required stakeholders to ensure the accuracy of the information in the pipeline. This will all be done through communication with the sales and marketing team.

Bid Management Ownership of tenders, liaising with required internal and external parties to ensure the timely submission of competitive winning bids following our tender review and approval processes to minimise any risks.

Integration with Operational delivery teams Involving the allocated Project Manager with your estimate through evaluation, submission and then handing over to ensure that the Project Manager has bought into the pricing and methodology used, so as to achieve or improve on the margin the project was bid on.

As part of a wider team of QSs, Estimators and Project Managers, there is plenty of opportunity for support, learning and development.

ABOUT YOU:
• Must have Waterproofing QS experience gained within New Zealand or Australia.
• Competent in visually assessing issues on site (rooftops) and formulating solutions
• Tertiary qualification in QS or Construction Management
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal
• Ability to build relationships both internally and externally
• It will be an advantage if you can develop relationships with customers to ensure a continual pipeline of work to price
• A confident attitude with the ability to see the opportunity and follow it through
• Strong IT skills and process orientated
